Other, non-voting participants: Lord Sir Keluric, Lady Gwendair
Westmarch Issues: Corpora Change, Interim BOD Election
Vote to adopt the Principality Champion Package (see http://www.caamtgard.com/docs/ballots/august-althing-08.pdf)
Floor opened for support of adoption of Principality Champion Package
Floor opened for opposition of adoption of Principality Champion Package
Interim BOD Election:
Lord Sir Keluric vs Baronet Squire Laoric vs No Confidence
Ballots were passed out to the voting members in attendance. Ballots were returned to Prime Minister Griffin and counted. Lady Gwendair was present to verify the count. Prime Minister Griffin reported the local results were 0 vote in support of the Champion package, 7 votes in opposition, and 0 votes for Baronet Squire Laoric and 7 votes in favor of Lord Sir Keluric. Prime Minister Griffin reported one proxy ballot in favor of the Champion package, and 1 vote for Baronet Squire Laoric.
The members in attendance held a further discussion regarding the results of their votes. It was agreed upon that the present voting members of SSD would like to add a few statements to their vote tally:
We do not dispute the need for a principality Champion, however, there are some issues with the submitted package that we would like addressed. As presented, the ballot does not have a clear delineation of duties of the local champion and the principality champion. The voting members suggest breaking down the duties in a separate manner. We would also like a clear declaration of principality champion powers versus local powers.
We would like Westmarch to clearly define a "Westmarch Event" and the scope of authorities therein. For example, if a Westmarch event was being held at a local field, who would have the higher authority? What requirements must be met for an event to be an official "Westmarch Event."
The order of precedence needs revision. According to our parent kingdom, Dragonspine, corpora, the champion position is 3rd in the order of precedence. As the chief safety officer, the champion is best suited to handle the park operations in the absence of the monarch and regent. In addition, it is already the champion's job to run battle scenarios in absence of scheduled fighting events. Most importantly, as pointed out by Baron Deimos, the Prime Minister is not required to pass a Reeve's test as a part of qualifications. This makes the Prime Minister unsuited for the task.
Local Issues: None
The Voting Members were thanked for their time and votes; the other participants were thanked for attending
Meeting adjourned, 5:35 pm.
